Reepr Interview

Reepr has really taken off in the last year! Having had an original in the beatport 'Top 100 Electro House tracks' and a release on Lee Mortimers Wearhouse Music.

Reepr obatined his musical talent at a very young age and first turned his hand at house music in 2008. With this new direction he was able to open the necessary doors and become a successful House Producer. Reepr has opened for some of the biggest dj's in the world having spun alongside Tiesto, Dj Bam Bam and JJ Flores to name a few.

Reepr has managed to develop a unique wobbly house sound that has gained him support from some of the biggest labels around! With tracks on Lee Mortimer's Wearhouse Music, Nu style Records, Runt Records, Bass Boom Recordings and a collaboration due out in June of Lazy Rich's Big Fish Recordings .

It seems inevitbale that Reepr is destined for even bigger things so we decided to catch up with him and ask him a few quesitons!!

In the last year you've had a track in the beatport top 100 electro house tracks and a release on Wearhouse music! You must be pretty stoked!

Yea i know its just awesome. In just a short time all of this, its just crazy. cant wait what next year will bring.

Can you remember when your affair with dance music first started?

Actually it wasn't that pretty far off. About three years ago i was still mixing HipHop at my gigs and then i started listening to Deadmau5, Hatiras, Klaas and other great producers. Then when i saw Hatiras live in McAllen, TX it just blew my mind and i knew what i wanted to do, produce house music.

When did you first start djing and producing?

Well in 2007 I started DJing HipHop music and in 2008 i started mixing and producing Electro-House.

What software do u use to produce your tracks?

I use Fl Studio for my productions but I also use Adobe Audition also for vocals and mastering

You have a very unique wobbly sound. What Dj's and prodcuers have influenced your sound?

A lot of producers have influenced me. From Benny Benassi, Deadmau5, Hatiras to Skrillex, Calvertron, Will Bailey, Afrojak and more.

Have you always produced Filthy House Music or have you tried your hand at other styles?:

Not really, i have also produced some Progressive and Tech-House Tracks like my "Long Islands" track released on South American House or my "Speed Up" track recently released on Peak Hour Music.

Djing is a big part of your career have you got any big gigs or tours coming up?

Yeh i got the chance to open for Tiesto this spring break and im also working on getting a tour set up!

Recently youve had a release on Wearhosue Music. Have you got any hot releases or remix coming out soon?

Yes definitely! I've just finished a collab with Dj Exodus and Leewise for Lazy Rich's Big Fish Recordings and got some other hot remixes coming out soon on Funkk Sound Recordings, Bass Boom recordings and Sick Society Records.

Who are your favorite producers at the moment?

I think Calvertron is just killing it at the moment with his sick sounds and with his recent transition into dubstep.

What 5 tracks couldnt you live without in your record box?

Nero-Act Like You Know (Dubstep Mix)
Skrillex-Nice Sprites and Scary Monsters (Original Mix)
Steve Smooth and JJ Flores-Let it Go (Hatiras Remix)
Edwards World-Soul Roots 2010 (Rene Kuppen's 'Mexican Flu' Remix)
Luvstuff-Ziek Music (Will Bailey remix)

Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer our question! I hope that 2011 is an even bigger year for you!!
